Meet your hype woman

Hi, Katelin Barnes here!

I begged my parents at 13 for a Nikon camera for Christmas.

Nikon D5100 ... I mean BEGGED. Thankfully even though I would assume I was super annoying I'm so glad they made the mistake of taking a teen to best buy. My Parents worked hard, so to open this camera on Christmas really meant a lot to me.

I certainly would have never imagined photography being MY full-blown career by 23 . I was the annoying family member for every holiday, always taking photos. That's how this all started. I was the girl with the camera.

Quickly they promoted me to a shift manager, then I was voted as best shift manager within the organization which led to being a

Store Manager turned Supervisor turned Managers in Training Coach turned Head of Development. My career for nearly 7+ years that I LOVED, not only was I the girl with the camera, but I was also the 17 year old who attended and graduated Hamburger University. IT'S REAL IT REALLY IS!!

I overall loved the company and constantly wanted to learn more. The development opportunities within McDonald's are INSANE! Over those several years I would shoot 2-5 sessions a year just to use my camera. Eventually I wanted to become a mommy and slow my pace. I started becoming pulled towards my camera more and more.

Overall photography as a whole. Eventually decided to go all-in and become a full-time photographer. WOW what a jump that was! Of course I'll always continue to learn, and use the resources around me to grow, but so far this has been such an unreal journey. I've worked with over 300 families, and I can't wait to work with thousands more!

I'm just so excited to be getting the opportunity todo this FULL-TIME as my career - thank you soo much!
